The Boeing 747-400 with the registration D-ABTE and the Manufacturer's Serial Number (MSN) 24966 was delivered to Lufthansa in April 1991 and named "Sachsen-Anhalt". After 21 successful years, D-ABTE was phased out on August 6, 2012 and initially parked until May 29, 2013 in Michigan at Oscoda-Wurtsmith Airport. There the US cargo airline Kalitta Air finally took over the machine. With the new registration N769CK, the Boeing 747-400 was no longer in the air, but it still belonged to the airline until September 2021 and was used for spare parts.
