The British BAC Jet Provost T.5 aircraft, brings significance to the end of a very difficult year, 2022. The XW304, suffered a bird strike on 23.05.1990 at RAF Finningley. Only a few years later, the air base would get shutdown and reopen in the new millennium as Doncaster-Sheffield Robin Hood International Airport.

DSA had a good run as an airport, serving as a major cargo hub during COVID crisis delivering vital supplies to the country. In 2022, the owners of the airport decided to shut it down, the closure came as a great surprise to hundreds of staff whom in space of weeks became redundant.

This release is made in honour of all the aircrew and staff who have served and worked at RAF Finningley and Doncaster Airport! We hope for bright future and clear skies ahead for this Airport and its staff!
