It's a cold day back on the 5th December 1997 and 'Perfect Day' is at No.1 in the UK charts. It is also a perfect day for G-CIVO, as it started its long and illustrious life with British Airways.
This Queen of the Skies flew around the world carrying passengers to far flung destinations such as Cape Town, Vancouver and vivaaaaaa Las Vegas! This aircraft only flew with this particular airline during its 20+ year lifespan.
Powered by four mighty Rolls Royce RB211 engines, this queen would grace the skies at a top speed of 565mph.
G-CIVO was also beautifully adorned with the Benyhon Tartan livery designed exclusively for the airline by Peter MacDonald.
It was then updated with the current Union flag / Chatham Dock scheme.
The plane also had a football nose cone added to celebrate The World Cup in 2010 held in South Africa.
"Victor Oscar" was retired from her duties in September 2020 and that would be the end of the sky giant.
However, Tailfins have managed to save some pieces and the memory can live on and be a permanent reminder of this wonderful plane.
These unique and individual pieces are hand finished which come presented with a backing card. The Tailfins may have blemishes from years in the sky making each of them one of a kind!
