Hawker Siddeley Hawk-T.1A of the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team – The Red Arrows!
The Hawk was issued to ‘The Reds’ in the late 1979. Ever since, it has become a true aviation icon of the world’s premier aerobatic display team.
The XX319 is the second edition of the Red's Hawk to come to the Fuselage Creations workshop. The aircraft currently remains an active member of the display team and has been with the Royal Air Force since 1980. The aircraft has been spotted wearing a few unique liveries, such as ‘50th Display Seasons’, ‘100 Years of the RAF’ and, no doubt, the ‘Flying Union Jack’, which was introduced in 2015.
While with the Red Arrows, ‘319’ was temporarily withdrawn to undergo some modifications and had its right hand aileron changed. That part was later salvaged and used by the Fuselage Creations team to design this special edition.
We are proud to have had yet another chance to work with the Red Arrows Hawk and hope to trace down and welcome more Reds to join our fleet in the future!
